A poet and artist, Mandy is the current poet in Residence at the State Library of Queensland Café, has just been excepted as a Research Masters student at QUT to study Bukowski and was highly commended in the Val Vallis Award, NSW Writers Centre best self published book, PressPress Award and appeared in Best Australian Poems. Published and performed widely, Mandy has also had her poems commissioned for various bars and cafes, the side of Brisbane’s Ferries, for Brisbane Festival, on electronic signage for the Write around the Murray Festival and for telephone signal boxes on the streets of Brisbane.

She served as one of the managers of the Queensland Poetry Festival and ran the Brisbane Writers Festival poetry events for many years. She was also the Director of Poetry After Dark at the Zoo nightclub and currently runs SPOKEN at the State Library of Queensland.  Her new collection ‘Drinking Makes Your Heart Ache More Than it Should’ is available from www.mandybeaumont.com.
