CAFE POET IN RESIDENCE AT THE STATE LIBRARY OF QUEENSLAND
Yep! It’s on. Im the new (and first ever) poet to do this and its exciting! Im full of ideas and poems and the guys at the Cafe and at the State Library have been amazing.
I’ve put together a month program called ‘SPOKEN’ which will be on the 2nd Friday eve of every month, and it will include poets, muso’s, film, art and all matter of other goodies!
I’ll also be putting together a new collection of poetry to be launched at the end of the residency and I’ll be doing some large scale text based work, some soundscape stuff and a whole lot more.
There has been a blog set up, http://slqcafepoet.wordpress.com/ so that you can keep up to date on all the happenings with the residency. So go on over, check it out, share it with your friends and subscribe (oh yeah and come along to the events, the first one FRESH POETICS – NEW VOICES, will be held on Friday 11th November from 5.30pm and will include an open mic with a $100 prize plus readings from Alicia Bennett, Carly Metcalf and Brendan Foley).
